Toast w/ anchovies
The showstopper of all dinner party appetizers. Anchovies & a high quality butter - layered on olive oil toasted baguette make for an umami-rich bite that’s equal parts indulgent and unfussy. Add shallot or capers if you like - or don’t. Serve with a crisp drink and call it aperitivo.
Pair with: A dry sparkling wine - to cut through the richness.
ANCHOVIES WITH TOAST
INGREDIENTS
Baguette - sliced
Garlic cloves
Olive Oil (optional)
High Quality Butter
Shallot (optional)
Capers (optional)

DIRECTIONS
Slice baguette into desired thickness
Rub with garlic or olive oil & broil or grill until toasted
Place pad of butter on toast (don't spread)
Place desired amount of anchovy or sardines atop buttered toast
Optional garnish with capers or shallot
Serve with your favorite cocktail!
